Hey Dad Look At This Lunker Alex shows off a nice 18 pound Lake Trout taken on a Williams F70 Silver Flasher. |
Get Down Deep If you're going to fish for Lake Trout, and you want to catch the big ones, you'll have to get down deep. You don't have to have down riggers if you know what you're doing. Alex caught this lunker on a three-way swivel system, with a 1lb weight. The rig works like an over-sized bottom bouncer and will get your lure right in front of the big fish. |

Lunker Laker After a fierce 15 minute battle from the bottom Alex has just enough energy left to hoist this 25+ pound laker for a quick photo. The Williams Silver Flasher was the magic bait |
All Work and No Play? Production Assistant, Aaron Hanson finally got the chance to drop a line and it didn't take long to hook into this awesome 25 lb laker. Does this look like work to you? |

Gentlemen, Lunch Is Served Selwyn Lake Lodge has a strict catch and release policy that ensures the future of this fabulous fishery. The only exception is a delicious shore lunch prepared by our guides. Alex and the boys are partial to Northern Pike and it was no problem to catch a couple of nice northerns for lunch. Stan and Dave have the shore lunch down to a fine art as they work together to prep the fish and fixin's. |
Grayling Series A trip to Selwyn Lake Lodge isn't complete without a trip to the Bompus River to cast a fly for feisty Arctic Grayling. Alex and the crew took the 90 minute boat ride down the lake and spent the afternoon catching dozens of these gorgeous Grayling. The average fish was in the 15" range, and none of these beauties was too particular about fly patterns. At first they were hitting mosquito patterns, when they wizened up to that; Elk Hair Caddis, Griffiths, Nats, and Ant patterns were just as effective. |
