WALLEYE ON TOUCHWOOD

Welcome Back

Alex and Scott couldn’t resist a return trip to Touchwood Lake to try their hands at the lunker Walleye that inhabit this gorgeous little lake.

Yee Haa .... No Crowds

Here’s a nice aerial shot of the park area and boat launch at Touchwood Lake. Great camping, a decent boat launch, and lots of great fishing await visitors to Touchwood.

Nice Wally Alex

Alex has an ear to ear grin as he shows off just one of the awesome Walleye that were ready and willing to appear on Fishing Alberta.

Smile For The Camera

Alex gives Fishing Alberta viewers a good look at this average sized Touchwood walleye. Spinner rigs and minnows were just what the "eyes" were looking for in about 18 feet of water.

15 Seconds Of Fame

Alex and Scott weren’t the only ones who found the fish on Touchwood. This nice couple were only to happy to show off one of the many fish they caught.

Ouch That's Gotta Hurt

The boys were quite surprised to catch this odd shaped Walleye. You’ll notice the head and neck of this fish are angled about 15 degrees upward. This is most likely the result of poor fish handling. A rubber net, landing glove, and due care and attention will help to greatly reduce injuries like this to our aquatic friends. This fish was released and seemed none the worse for wear.

Friend In High Places

Leon Rutiger is a local business man from Lac La Biche who also happens to be a heck of a pilot. These shots show Leon coming in for a landing on Touchwood, Production Manager / Videographer Vince (Vinny) Wasch getting a shot from the cockpit, and Leon giving a wave to the camera.

Back To School

Scott Rawlings displays a nice Touchwood Lake Walleye before gently sending her back to school.

Easy Does It

Alex uses a gentle two-hand release to make sure this good looking Walleye swims away to be caught another day. Notice the landing glove on Alex’s right hand. These gloves are sold as "fillet" gloves and can be purchased from almost any sporting goods store. While you’re rushing out to get your new landing glove make sure you pick up a good rubber net. With the right tools you’ll be all set for your next day of catch and release fishing.
